  1. The main part of any system is the collection of data. This is done in IoT using sensors or a device equipped with multiple sensors. A mobile such a device equipped with multiple sensors such as proximity sensor, accelerometer, IR  sensor and gyroscope.
  2. The next step is the transmission of data. This is done using satellite networks, mobile networks, Local Area Networks(LAN) and Wi-Fi. The data is stored in the cloud or any other sources.
  3. The next step is the processing of data. This processing may range from very simple such as noting the temperature of the room to complex such as identifying trespassers from your cameras.
  4. Next is displaying data to the user. This may be in the form of triggering alarms in your mobile. For example, if there is a fire in your house, it will trigger an alarm in the fire station.

There is a huge demand for the applications of IoT. To meet these demands, some of the most widely known companies are trying their best. The companies include IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Google, Cisco and Amazon Web Services.

How to start learning IoT?

As you will be dealing a lot about sensors, you need to have an in-depth knowledge of the sensors used.

You will also be dealing with programming. So, you need to learn Javascript or Python.

You need to have a grip on Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
